Threading

Ultra Rigid Threading with CoroThread® 266

CoroThread 266 is the new threading concept for all types of threads. Designed with an iLock interface to combat extreme forces placed upon the insert during threading operations, this tool guarantees excellent insert stability for ultimate accuracy, improved surface finish and product consistency.

Improved tool life and productivity
Grade GC1125 has improved plastic deformation properties and a more wear resistant coating. It handles higher temperatures without losing its shape which is important when threading at higher cutting speeds or when long threads are to be made.
  • Wear resistant coating enables higher cutting speeds
  • Tool life longer as wear resistance is improved with new coating
  • Productivity improved as cutting data can be increased with maintained tool life
  • Coating handles higher temperatures from cutting speed or high feed rates
  • Thread quality is increased as cutting edge keeps its shape longer

Three insert types
- Full profile
- V-profile 55° and 60°
- Multi-point
Insert geometries
- All round "A" geometry (ER treated)
- Sharp "F" geometry
Insert is available in E- or M-tolerance

E-tolerance is ±0.01 mm axial and ±0.05 mm radial.
M-tolerance is ±0.05 mm radial and axial.

Flexible tooling for quality threads

Unique dampened adaptors and boring bars increase stability for internal thread machining. The new tools resist strong cutting forces to produce high quality threads in a standard solution for up to 5 x bar diameter range.

The dampened tools can also be applied to internal turning and grooving with high stability, thanks to the serrated coupling at the front end. This interface offers maximum versatility and allows a wide range of SL (serration lock) exchangeable cutting heads to be used.

Higher productivity,
ultra-rigid threading

CoroThread 266 is the new way for the oil, gas and mechanical engineering sectors to improve threading productivity and product accuracy.

Tests confirm that insert movement with the rigid rail interface is close to zero.

Laboratory test
