Internal Machining

CoroTurn® SL

CoroTurn SL (SL=Serration Lock) is a flexible and modular tooling system with exceptional strength in the coupling, giving the opportunity to build a large variation of tools and reducing inventory.

Boring bars and adaptors
Steel, carbide and damped, Silent Tool boring bars and adaptors are available for various applications and overhangs. The program includes conventional cylindrical bars and Coromant Capto® adaptors, all using the CoroTurn® SL interface.

1.CoroTurn SL quick change for large bores
Bar diameter 80-250 mm (to 600 mm as special), minimum bore 100 mm, using cutting heads with the unique ability to change cutting heads fast to reduce down time. Overhangs up to 14x bar diameter.
2.Cutting heads for negative basic-shape insert
CoroTurn SL also includes cutting heads using the CoroTurn® RC clamp design to carry negative style inserts.
3.Reduce cutting forces with positive basic shape inserts
For optimum performance CoroTurn® 107/111 positive inserts are recommended. The positive cutting angles ensure an easy cutting action reducing the risk of vibration.

4.Improved productivity in threading
T-Max U-Lock® SL cutting heads enable you to use Silent Tool boring bars, increasing productivity as cutting data can be increased. Now also for external threading making your multi-task machine more flexible.
5.CoroTurn® SL, perfect for customized solutions
Due to their flexibility, standard CoroTurn SL cutting heads can be used in conjunction with special made adaptors to build a customized solution.
6.Flexibility in parting and grooving
CoroCut/T-Max Q-Cut SL blades to be used with CoroTurn SL adaptors enable you to build thousands of combinations of holders for external and internal operations including face grooving.
7.Increased productivity in multi-task
CoroPlex™ SL mini-turret using standard CoroTurn SL cutting heads, blades and adaptors, you can build your own customized tool for your multi-task machine.
