Ultra rigid threading
with CoroThread 266

CoroThread® 266 is a threading concept for all types of threads. Designed with an iLock interface to combat extreme forces placed upon the insert during threading operations, this tool guarantees excellent insert stability for ultimate accuracy, improved surface finish and product consistency.

Two unique grades for threading

The recently introduced grade GC1125 is complemented with a new grade for threading applications, GC1135. Both grades are equally universal, with good function in all ISO materials although each grade has its own specialty.

If the majority of your threading is in:

Steels, cast irons or aluminum – choose GC1125
Stainless steels or heat resistant super alloys – choose GC1135
Profiles requiring sharp edges – choose GC1135

GC1135
  • Improves thread quality
  • For ISO M, -S, -P, -K materials
  • Optimized for stainless steels and
    heat resistant super alloys
  • Best choice for sharp profiles in all materials
GC1125
  • Wear resistant coating enables higher cutting speeds
  • Tool life longer as wear resistance is improved with new coating
  • Productivity improved as cutting data can be increased with maintained tool life
  • Coating handles higher temperatures from cutting speed or high feed rates
  • Thread quality is increased as cutting edge keeps its shape longer

The iLock interface: slots on the insert connect to the guide rail on the shim.

Flexible tooling for quality threads

Unique dampened adaptors and boring bars increase stability for internal thread machining. The new tools resist strong cutting forces to produce high quality threads in a standard solution for up to 5 x bar diameter range.

The dampened tools can also be applied to internal turning and grooving with high stability, thanks to the serrated coupling at the front end. This interface offers maximum versatility and allows a wide range of SL (serration lock) exchangeable cutting heads to be used.
